Built Through Adversity. Defined by Purpose.

Some people are built by comfort.

Janina Simmons was built by challenge.

After enlisting in the U.S. Army in 2010, she spent the next sixteen years breaking barriers, leading from the front, and proving that resilience is forged long before anyone sees the victory.

She became the first Black female Army Ranger, the first Ranger-qualified woman to achieve the rank of Sergeant Major, an Honor Graduate, Distinguished Honor Graduate, Drill Sergeant, deployer, and trusted leader.

Then came the challenge she never saw coming: Stage IV cancer.

What many would have viewed as an ending became a turning point.

While undergoing treatment, Janina continued competing in ultramarathons and confronting adversity with the same determination that had defined her career. In the process, she discovered a deeper purpose beyond achievement.

That journey became Draw Four—her debut memoir and a powerful reflection on resilience, identity, faith, and the courage to keep moving forward when life deals an unexpected hand.

Today, Janina shares that message with audiences across the country. Through powerful storytelling and hard-earned lessons, she inspires military, corporate, and community organizations to lead with courage, embrace adversity, and build unwavering belief in themselves.

Because success isn't built in the spotlight.

It's built brick by brick, in the moments no one sees.

And every chapter of Janina's story is proof.
